More Gaspar No\u00e9 than Emily in Paris, the district is neither the cleanest nor the most charming in the capital, but it’s unquestionably one of the friendliest. Lively and multicultural, the 10th district is packed with restaurants where you can discover cuisines from all over the world without breaking the bank, and great bistros where you can enjoy good food, good wine and a good atmosphere. As well as boasting some of the best theaters in Paris (Bouffes du Nord, Scala, Porte Saint-Martin\u2026), the district is also a thirst-quencher, with a thousand and one bars packed all year round. Recipes twist Italian classics by removing the deceased animal: mushroom bolognese, egg yolk bottarga\u2026 On our visit, we pounced on a revisit of \u201cBuitoni ravioli\u201d, baited by the good taste of nostalgia. Thick tomato sauce, mushroom stuffing and miso, much tastier than our memory of the canned equivalent. It’s a yes! The only downside is that, with six agnolotti on the plate, there’s no chance that big appetites will be satisfied in a single serving. They can double up or opt for one of the rather well-made desserts, like this impeccable affogato with praline and hazelnut ice cream. All in all, a cool, noisy address – open all week long – to lead carnivores to vegetarian offerings without seeming to do so (no one complains about a plate of meatless pasta).
